Fetology is an educational event focused on advances in fetal medicine. This event is sponsored by The Chicago Institute for Fetal Health at Lurie Children’s and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education. 

The focus this year will be on a multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation, care, and intervention of complex fetal conditions, including fetal cardiac anomalies, lower urinary tract obstruction (LUTO), amnioinfusions, newborn dialysis, Turner syndrome, spinal muscular atrophy, skeletal dysplasia, congenital tumors, and fetal neurologic conditions, as well as collaborative care and family support.

The curriculum is designed for obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists, cardiologists, radiologists, sonographers, nurses, pediatric surgical specialists, genetic counselors, social workers, and other perinatal specialists and staff.

• Analyze recent advancements in the treatment of common fetal conditions amenable to fetal surgery
• Evaluate the current evidence supporting the practice of fetal intervention
• Identify current knowledge gaps that limit broader application of fetal surgery
• Assess innovative approaches currently used in the study and advancement of fetal intervention
• Evaluate indications, outcomes, and emerging directions in congenital heart disease diagnosis and research
• Interpret advances in diagnostic technologies, including fetal imaging and genetic therapies, and their implications for clinical care
